    Default 1901 Charles Egerton

Not sure if this is any help but I have just recieved my Grandmother's marriage certificate back this morning

Father Charles Egerton Occupation Plate Layer (what ever that is )

James Charles Egerton born 1900. At the time of the marriage to my grandmother (1950) James was residing at Lower Grange Farm Cauldon Low Staffordshire.

    James was also a widower.

Under Charles Egerton's name it looks like deceased but as been crossed out.

I did find one Charles Egerton on the Staffordshire BMD Site Died 1911 aged 38 Leek Staffordshire Moorlands.

    Thanks

    Hi Light.

Oh! right thankyou It seems like Charles's son James followed in his father's footsteps, according to the recent marriage certificate James was a Navvy. I always thought that was someone who worked in an army canteen, but apparently it was someone who worked on railways
