Thread: Thomas Williams, Worcestershire census

Can someone do a look-up for me in the 1841 Worcestershire census please? I'm searching for Thomas Williams, born c. 1824. The only other info I have is that his father is called William Williams, and was possibly a glover.

The only concern I have with the info you've found is that Thomas married in 1845 - was he not listed in the household in 1841?

No, Thomas wasn't listed in the 1841 household. I'll do further searches tomorrow.

I did have a look on the IGI and found a christening for a Thomas Williams in 1825 in Dodderhill,Worcester, parents William and Elizabeth. Obviously I don't know whether it's the right one, but a possibility if you could look into it.

the william on igi could be same family as slizzy found. wiliam and elizabeth could easily be william and betsy. It is interesting that betsey mary daughter of slizzys family is also missing of 1841 census when she would only be 7. cant seem to find her either.



the only thomas william i can see on 1841 in worcester area that could be him is the one below. all the rest appear to be with other williams ( parents and siblings). he is on own on transcription but when look on image he is with thomas cox (aged 45) and benajamin davis ( aged 65)

There is this family, but William is a shoe maker, and Thomas born c.1817.

I did find the last family on Findmypast, and thought it was a possibility until a descendent of that line on Genes placed doubt in my mind.



I know that William was a glover at least in 1845, as it states as such on Thomas' marriage certificate. However, the writing on the certificate is faded and difficult to read, so I can't make out Thomas' age, making it difficult to verify the birth year. The only other info I can really provide is that they were married in St Clements parish, if that is of any help, and that Thomas was a French polisher at time of marriage.
