Thread: Watermen apprentice lookup?

Does anyone have access to the watermen apprentice records?

I have an ancestor, Frederick Rider, on the 1841 census of Snowfield Bermondsey [where is that ]He is 20 years old and occupation waterman. He disappeared by the time of the 1851 census.

Hi seeker - I may be able to find him on the apprenticeship indexes at the Society of Genealogist's library - I did a similar look up for someone else recently. See my thread on the help offered forum

Thanks Gillian. That would be great. He was born at Hosley Down 1825. Fathers name as Paul. I cant find him after 1841.
