Thread: Samuel Fisher Cheshire..

Hi all



I have a problem!



The last cert I have on the Fisher family is for Sams marriage to Elizabeth Williams. They married 1/8/1842 Parish Church Ince Cheshire. Sams father is Thomas a labourer and Elizabeths is Edward a wheelwright.The witnesses are Charles White and Samuel White.



I have looked for a Thomas on the 1841 census and the most likely I think is 1841c, HO107; Piece 97; Book: 11;Parish: Frodsham Cheshire; Enumeration District: 11; Folio:10; Page:14;Line:11;GSU roll: 241237.Park Green Manley Cheshire..



It shows Thomas c 1796, Samuel c1821, Hanna c 1829 and Joseph c1836 and John 1834.. I can only find Sam and Joseph on the cesus.



I am trying to 1, to establish if Thomas is Samuels father.2, if the other children are Sams siblings, 3, and who his mother is!



I found a marriage for Joseph and have ordered it to see who his father is.



Also I think I need to buy some parish records, any suggestions where I can get them for Manley Cheshire?

Hi, have you tried this site, it covers BMD for cheshire, takes a while to get used to it but there are a lot of parish records on it and it is well worth the trouble

The parish Im looking for hasn't been transcribed yet but it is in progress

Hi Light - I think you need a look up in Cheshire record office - I don't think there is any way round it - they don't sell fiche of parish records (but check genfair & Cheshire family history society publications if you haven't already done so)

I had someone do a lookup for me and they found this..



Samuel Fisher 24/6/1821, son of Thomas and Sarah, abode Manley Cheshire. Next time he goes he is going to look at the image again to see if it says where he was baptised lol..



Im just looking at Genfair now. Parish Registers are a complete mystery to me at the moment. With the help and advice Im getting Im sure I'll soon learn. Thanks again
