Thread: Annie Taylor's Father

Hi all,

I wonder if anyone can help me with another query I've just come across?



Annie b 1849 Saffron Walden Essex. M James Wisken b. 1847 in Saffron Walden.

I have Annie's father as Nathaniel/Nathan Taylor c1820 Essex?. The problem is that I have him with Annie as his daughter, but I have just found someone else on another site who has him with 7 children, but Annie isn't one of them.

This lady has Nathan's parents as the same as mine (William Taylor c1785 & Ann Hodson c1783), so I'm now not sure if my Grandmother was illegitimate. Please can anyone help me sort this out?

I've had a look throughj all my paperwork, and I don't have that certificate. If I remember rightly I found the information on the internet, but I stupidly didn't write down the source. Any help greatly appreciated.

I don't have a wife for Nathan at the moent, but the lady who has thrown up my query re Annie, has Nathan's wife as Rhoda Start. Nathan's parents are William & Ann Hodson if this helps.

I think you need Annie's marriage certificate to establish for certain who her father was - it should also give her age.

If it is Nathan he and Rhoda Start were married in Sep quarter 1839 Saffron Walden 12 378.

In 1861 there isn't an Annie with the family but there is a Hannah age 10 - it is just possible that they are the same person - but you first need to be sure of her father.
