Hey Guys, it's been a while since I was on.....
Again doing some research for a friend (my family seems to have exhausted itself) and have traced back to Francis RONALDS (1761-1806). He had 12 children with his wife Jane, née Field, all born London area:
Jane - 18.09.1786 (married James Montgomery)
Francis (Sir) - 21.02.1788 (inventor of the electric telegraph)
William - 15.07.1789 (died young)
Edmund - 27.12.1790 (married Eliza Anderson )
Hugh - 27.06.1792 (immigrated to USA - one for you Star?)
Mary Ann - 23.02.1794 (married Peter Martineau)
Emily - 25.09.1795 (never married)
Charlotte - 03.04.1797 (died 1825)
Charles - 24.10.1798 (married a Miss. Fisher?)
Nathaniel - 01.06.1800 (died 1833)
Alfred - 10.07.1802 (came to OZ)
Maria - 28.05.1804 (married Samuel Carter)
Alfred is the ancestor of my friend and he immigrated to Australia in 1848, soon after his wife Margaret (née Bond) died in Wales, 1847. It is said they had eight children, but I have only found 4. Alfred and Margaret should be in Staffordshire in 1841, somewhere near Gratwich.
Unfortunately all I have is what's above, no marriages for any children, but I'm working on it and will keep you posted. Looking for census etc. to tell me what happened to Alfred's siblings (and Alfred in UK), any BMD references will also be greatly appreciated.
Not sure whether I should ask for Margaret Bond's family here also (wanting same info as above). Her father was John Bond (1772-??) born Colwich, Staffs. married Jane Parry in 1800 and children born Tixall area:
Benjamin - 19.05.1802
Jane - 1803 (m. John Wally Careless 1826, Tixall, Staffs)
John - 04.06.1805
Sarah - 1810 (m. William Dawes, 1830, Tixall, Staffs.)
and Margaret - 1814ish.
As always, please list citations.
I know that's a fair bit and I thank any and all who take the time to digest it. Looking forward to some insightful responses.
