    Default David George Christodoulou

Looking for David George Christodoulou, born 27th October 1956 at St Monica's , 17/19 St Peters Road, Parkstone, Dorset, England.

His mother was my sister whom I did not know about, untill 18 months ago. We were both adopted. Helen grew up in Parkstone at 3 White Close with Elsie and Alfred Merrifield.

David was born when Helen was just 16, and it seems forced by society at the time, to give David up. His birth certificate is marked adopted, but it is not registered against the Birth Index in the registry.

I have contacted all the adoption agencys between Poole and Northamptonshire, as well as Dorchester and Swindon & Wiltshire where the St Monica's records are supposed to be but not.

I have also chased the British Home Child issue around and around and not come up with anything. I Have oodles of messages all over the internet.

Anyone any ideas for further research? (other than the Adoption Index which is not available on line).

You may find the records with Hampshire SSD and some are with Dorset SSD.

However since the change in the law 2005. Birth family can have help tracing the Adopted person but only through a 3rd party Intermediary Service.

Contact SSD in the area you live and they will be able to tell you who will provide this service in your area.

You will need HIS original Birth Cert and the Birth Cert of the person searching to prove relationship.

I applied to the GRO and found that David had been adopted through The Church of England Childrens Society. Despite writing to them many times and requesting intermediary help they have not replied. I am not in England but a friend phoned them and they gave her a reference number for the case but still have not contacted me.

Any one any ideas what I do next?

I do have the birth certificate as previously said it is marked "adopted". The Childrens Society is / provides an "intermediary service".

I know exactly where the file is, it is on a desk at The Childrens Society.

The only way forward was for me to phone them which I have done. I live in Cape Town, South Africa so this is not easy especially as England is 2 hours behind us. I hope that once I complete the forms and return them with the correct fee we will be able to find David and or his family.
