Hi all



Would someone be prepared to do me a big favour please. (its a big ask)



I am tracking a family with numerous kids and Im now wondering if Im following 2 different families! If I post the census could someone check through them for me please..the main trouble Im having is that different kids keep appearing and I dont know where from! Your thoughts would be welcome..

This marriage seems to go with 1871 & 1881 Census.

Hi Light,



If this is Hannah in 1861. Elizabeth, George and Thomas could have been her children and changed there name to Dodd after the marriage. The other children on the 1871 census would have been born as Dodd. Can anyone let me know if they agree with this please.

Hi Starlight ..Thank You! It looks so much clearer written down! Its awful when doubt start to creep in!



Thats the marriage cert I went for and it says Hannah Lownds widow, Father William Copeland Johns father Samuel..



Margaret born 1853 must have died as she dosent seem to appear again and I found a poss death in 1856.



Elizabeth, George and Thomas I think poss kept the Lownds name because I cant find them on the census as Dodd's..even though they are on the census as Dodd, If you know what I mean..

I noticed a death for Margaret last night and came to check, but it looks as though you have already found it. Have you found Walter on any Census after 1861 ? There is a death also but the age doesn't fit unless it has been copied down wrongly.



What I meant about the Lownds/Dodds was that although there real surname was Lownds, they had been called Dodds on the census. I think you have worked it out now. Sometimes I don't even understand what I am trying to get at myself
