Loooking for a marriage ref. for James Stoddart b1790,Cumberland. I have him married to Ann b1792 but would like her maiden name if possible.Thanks! Sharon

You will only get a marriage reference if they were married after the 4thq in 1837..

Your now into Parish registers territory so have a look on the IGI, (Family search)

I cant see a James 1790, there is this one and hes a butcher..

The best thing to do as you do have Ancestry is to track him through the census..

I have found this marriage.



Whether its your james or not is another matter, but this was the only one i could find for an james and ann.

Marriage: 09 JUN 1810 Embleton, Cumberland, England



Also i checked where EMBLETON was, and its in Cockermouth, which might add up as on the census, thats where james and ann are living.
