Thread: Albert Barker

Hi all,

Please can someone try to sort out a problem for me? Albert Barker d.o.b.c1875 Yorkshire England, married my great aunt Emily Wisken in c1904. I can find them on the 1881 census both as scholars, but I am unable to find anything else about them.

I believe Albert's parents were Enoch Barker and Elizabeth Acker, and Emily's were John Whisken and Eliza Ann Turner.

It is a nightmare trying to sort out all the different spellings for Whisken. I'm sure that I'm also linked to the Whiskin line, but can't quite connect to it yet.

If anyone can help with any of this, I would be most grateful.

I think this has to be him in 1891, as I noticed in 1881 the family were living in Saffron Walden.

Thank you both so very much for all of that info. It was much more than I expected. When I have asked for help with this on other sites, I have not received anything.

I had my suspicions about the surname Wisker, but never thought to look at it.
