Does anyone have any information about the ancestry of ANN WRIGLEY, born in Saddlworth, Yorkshire in about 1797 and THOMAS SHAW, born in about 1796, also in Saddleworth, who, according to the IGI, were married in Saddleworth on 17/11/1814?



They are in the 1841 census for Woodley, Bredbury, Cheshire with their family and staying with them at the time was her father, Joseph Wrigley, aged 75, ie born about 1766. As you know, the 1841 census rounded ages though. In 1851 Thomas, Ann & family were still in Woodley and the ages given then suggest the birth dates above.



The IGI records the baptism of Anna, daughter of Joseph and Anna Wrigley of Saddleworth Fold, Yorks on 02/05/1797.



The IGI also record the marriage of Joseph Wrigley and Ann Wood in Saddleworth on 12/11/1787.



I believe they had other children in the meantime. In fact the IGI suggests quite a few names with birthdates but the information seems rather confused as if several families were jumbled with dates not quite matching my information.



I know that there were a lot of Wrigley families in Saddleworth but if anyone happens to have researched a Wrigley ancestor from there I would be very grateful to hear so that I could really establish the link.
