I am looking for information on my Granny.



Her name was Sara Jane Batten, Born in 1910 in Tonypandy Glamorgan.

I would like to know her parents names as well if possible.

Do you know if your Granny had siblings, and if so do you know their names?



The births index from July 1911 gives the mother's maiden name, so if we can find a sibling born after then we will have a mmn to work with, and can possibly find a marriage between your ggrandparents'

Yes,she had siblings. She was one of nine that i'm aware of. I know she had brothers David,Joe and Thomas and sisters Phyllis,Rhoda,Mable Bessie and Nellie. I'd love to know what her parents' names were but all enquiries have drawn a blank so far.Any help would be gratefully received.

(I think Rhoda,Bessie,Nellie and David were born after 1911).

On the same page Jane Stoddart.

To get further back you may have to buy Walter and Jane's marriage certificate, which would name their fathers'. I have found a few possible census returns for them, but the only Jane I can find born/living in Wales is...............



Jane Ann Stoddart, born 1889, Pennygraig, Glamorgan.



However I'm not sure that's her, as the marriage index doesn't have a middle name for 'your' Jane.



Is it possible Jane was born in England?



If so, there's a Jane Stoddart b. 1887 in Durham.



Jane Stoddart b. 1886 Cumberland



Jane Stoddart b. 1881 Staffordshire (Kingswinford)



Jane Stoddart b. 1889 Derbyshire.

Moving on to Walter.......



There are lots of Walter's born within the time frame, but not one born in Wales. Could Walter have been born in England?



I did wonder if this could be 'your' Walter born in Kingswinford, as one of the Jane's above was born in Kingswinford.
