I have just found your posting while searching for this very same person.



I live in Spain and have a Bar/Restaurant for sale and a person with the same name and address has shown an interest in purchasing the property from me.



Just interested in knowing if you have been contacted for the same purpose with a promise to send a bankers draft for 10% of the value plus extra for agent/lawyer fees? If so please get back to me.

Hi Steven, thank you for your reply. We also have had a communication from this fellow. We are selling property in Portugal and had the same reply from him - he would send a bankers draft as with you 10% of the purchase price plus his agents(financier) fees whic we would then have to settle. We thought it sounded fishy hence the search on ancestryaid. One reply told us that the address is a Pub in Liverpool-enough said!!!!

We have left this one alone.

We filed it along with all the ones from Nigeria, Ivory Coast etc.

Thanks for the reply. I thought from the very first contact that this was some sort of a scam.



I responded to his query by asking for a copy of his passport and the contact details of his lawyers to allow us to draw up contracts. We also insisted that he take care of his own lawyer/legal fees as there was no way we would be handing money over to anybody.



Funny enough, since then I have had no more contact frm him. Now that we have 2 confirmed attempts at a scam I will publish this on some of the email scam sites to hopefully make it easier for people like us to determine it's a scam.
