Thread: edward griggs spall

born in the bury st edmunds area around 1796 married rebekah brettisall in 1814 rebekah died 1869 edward 1857, looking for parents of both in parish records with out luck can any one help with search of parents on the information given?

Hi - the record on the marriage index I looked at gave Rebekah's name as Bretenhall? Also she was a widow - have you got that? - so you may need to look first for an earlier marriage to get her maiden name.

Baptism 16 Aug 1791 Edward Spall - parish Debenham - parents Samuel & Susanna

Right sort of area - just off the road to Bury St Edmunds - right sort of age.

Had a look at a Bury St Edmunds - St James - transcript - but he wasn't there

Gillian, your magic,and I do thank you for your help,I know the parish he married in was Saint James, can you tell me please the amount of information there will be on his death cert, as I have just sent for it ,and in what way could I use it to gain ground as reguards parent information, sept, 1857 edward griggs spall,

Sorry but the death certificate won't help find his parents - should give name, address, cause of death, age, informant

Post the information though when you get it - in the meantime I'll have a further think
