Thread: Help Wanted - Laurence George Charles Turner

I am trying to find some information on my grandfather who is Laurence George Charles Turner born in 1920, he was living in Mitcham, England before he married my grandmother in 1949.



I am trying to find some information on my great grandfather as well. His name is George Alfred John Turner not sure when he was born though but he was a Clerk for the railway and when his son married in 1949 he was retired. He was also born in England but not sure where.



His son was 29 years in 1949 as per information on my grandparents marriage certificate that I have.



Any help would be appreciated.

I think you already have Laurence's birth Dec 1920 in Isle of Wight mothers name Gilbert (this info may help anyone looking for his parents marriage

There is a staff register at the National Archives for Isle of Wight railway 1864-1915 (not online). I am not sure what info it would include.

I got some more information on my Grandfather from my uncle and he thinks that Laurence George Charles Turenr was born about 27-29 October 1919 if that helps.

Well that fits more or less with the birth we found in the Isle of Wight except it is 1920 (nothing in 1919)

But it also could be 1920 that's what I think because I don't think my uncle knows what he is talking about. Laurence died at the age of 69 years in 1989.
