Thread: Angel brother and sister

Trying to trace Frederick Angel born Winfrith, Dorset 1863 last found on 1881 census working as a dairy boy and lodging with William & Georgina Bullock at East Knighton, Winfrith, Dorset. His brother George was in the Army and Frederick was shown as his next of kin but with a note 'address unknown'.

Also trying to trace Lucy Ann(ie) Angel born Winfrith, Dorset 1871 last found on 1891 census when she was working as a domestic servant at Winterbourne Steepleton Manor House (village approx 5 miles west of Dorchester, Dorset).

Have tried all avenues I can think of with no success.

I can't find a frederick born 1863 but there is a Fred born 1865. Would this be him in 1891.

Sorry no luck with Lucy, but maybe someone esle might have a bit more luck

Sorry to disappoint but this was the original route I went down only to find it was the wrong person. His parents are completely different from Thomas & Martha Angel who are the Frederick's mother & father.

The family story is quite unusual.

Frederick was born George Frederick. There were 6 children - 2 died of typhoid at the ages of 2 & 5. The mother and father both died in their mid 30's and the children George 14, Frederick 11, Harriet 6 and Lucy 3 had to go and live with their maternal grandparents. George (my g.g.grandfather)joined the Army in 1881, he also died in his mid 30's in 1895 - 6 months after my grandfather was born. Harriet married in the the late 1890's and her record has been no problem.

Because my grandfather was only 6 months old when his father died very little information has filtered down.

Lucy daughter of Thomas & Matha is the correct one.

On the 1891 census her surname is spelt Angell, it's after 1891 that she seems to disappear.
