Thread: Goldshaw Booth Lancaster Tattersalls

Dear Listers,

I'm wondering if there are any more siblings that belong to this family.

They are the first family sitting at the top of my families tree.



Also it is only fair to mention that I have had other suggestions. But I am uncomfortable with them. They may be correct but instead of Goldshaw Booth, they mention a place near by called Pendle. Could Pendle be the "county seat" or something. Perhaps you could help me out of my confusion.



James Tattersall b. Goldshaw Booth, Lancaster UK. [no dates]

[married Susannah no dates]

They had two children that I am aware of.



Peggy born 1805 [no other info.]

Place unknown.



Mark born 1807-1882. Goldshaw Booth Lancaster.

[married Mary Riley 1807-1876]



So as I say can any one tell me is there are any other siblings?

Goldshaw-Booth was a township withing the chapelry of Newton-in-Pendle - so the details you have been given are probably right. Google it and you will see.

There is a record for Mark Tattersall christening 27 July 1817 Newchurch in Rossendale death 16 April 1823 parents John & Betty

Thank you for getting back. The list you gave me is the same one I've been given in the past.

The "Mally", is some times given as Molly and I can buy that. Transcribers are some times left wondering if they have chosen the correct spelling, I'm sure.



Would a family wait a whole year to have a child baptized? We baptist who believe in believers baptism may wait until a child is old enough to understand but a year would not do it.



Mark is a puzzle, obviously he does not belong to this family. Yet it would seem James and Susannah had no Australian children. For that matter there is no record of them having left the UK.

Younger baptisms are the most common but all ages are possible! (something else to confuse the family history researcher)
