Don't know whether to chuck the towel in or what on this one!



My Grt Grt Grandma was Elizabeth Wardle bapt Nov 1825 at St Bartholomews, Longnor. She was born at Hollinsclough.



From her marriage certificate I found her fathers name was Joseph Wardle and he was listed as a labourer. A few years ago someone looked up the baptism and gave her mother as Mary. And that was as far as I ever got......I have a couple of candidates for Elizabeth on the 1841 but no sure proof as she wasn't with her parents...and I have Elizabeth tracked up until her death in 1893.



It's Joseph & Mary I would like to find ......



A kind lady from Hollinsclough has checked the Longnor marriages and found that

Joseph WARDLE Wdr Cordwainer married Mary ETCHES Spinster at Longnor Church on 23rd Sep 1819. There are no more baptisms for children either before or after Elilzabeth......



Where do I go from here??? There are LOTS of Wardles living in the district on 1841.....I am really stumped as to being able to find anything more on the correct Joseph & Mary.



Oh btw when Elizabeth married she married at St Peters, Stoke on Trent and gave her residence as Fenton
