Looking for info on William Grindall m Elizabeth Sturgeon listed 1851 census in Moffat Dumfriesshire. His daughter Grace m Adam Currie in Dumfries are my gt grandparents.

The info u supplied is useful but not what I needed, William did have a son William b 1831 he is the brother of my relative Grace b 1844 but thanks anyway. I will have to keep trolling.

Sorry Shirls - got confused with the entries on the 1851 census.

Can't find any sign of your William's birth.

thanks for your reply Gillian yes I am having major probs finding listings for William. Thought for a while it may have been a family pet name but with his birth name different but he is listed as William on Grace's marraige cert.
