Thread: birth look-up question

If I ask for look-up of a birth, would parents names be available.

Mother's maiden name would be available if you asked for a search after 1912. Otherwise NO, unless you were lucky to pick an area where one of us have some parish records.

If before 1837 the parents may be on familysearch.



Between 1837-1912 you would probably have to get a birth certificate to confirm the parents.

I don't know of anyone with Islington parish records. I only have some from Hampshire and Wiltshire.



I forgot to mention that parents names for people born in Scotland are available, not that it will help you at the moment.

Apologies for delay in replying to you, thanks for info, got a bit carried away with another branch, going back to late 1600's. How far back do your records for Hampshire go.
