Thread: Can anyone find my missing Tiggs?

Hi



I have found my Robert and Ann Tigg in 1841 Holyboure Hampshire, Robert is 75 and Ann is 65, both born Hamps.



The problem is I can't find either of them in any later census. I have searched the death indexes from 1841-1861 so far and the only two Roberts are the ones on FreeBMD and they are already accounted for. Where is MY Robert Tigg?



Does anyone have any idea's where else I can look?

Hi Lyla,



The main trouble here may well be that although they have passed away, it was required but not compulsory to register the deaths until 1875.



I could well be that the deaths were not registered at all.



It may be worth looking in the local Parish Records of where they lived.

I guess you are right and they were probably not registered. What a nuisance. I'll just have to wait until I am able to look at the PRs one day.
