Default Could you help please - 1901 Briitish Census?

    Hi,

I really need some help with tracing GtGrandfather. I've found his birth entry, and he appears with parents in 1891 census with brother & sister. He's missing however, in the 1901 census, the brother & sister still at home.

He is: Arthur Charles Lake. b.1883 Qt1. at Paddington.

Do you know where I could look next please?

    Thanks

    M

    Hi Morgana,

Can you give us more info, ie his parents' and siblings' names?

Alternatively, post the 1891 census details. Thanks.

    Good morning to you, slizzy.

OK then - Arthur Charles' parents in the '91 census:

Benjamin Lake - age 33 - Pit Sawyer - born: Beaconsfield

Caroline Lake - age 32 - born: Reading

    SIBLINGS:

    Ernest B Hancock - age 8 - born: Reading

then comes Arthur Charles - age 6- born: Paddington

    Eleanor C - age 3 - born: Uxbridge

They lived at Ways Buildings, Uxbridge at that time.

I don't know how to post the record on here, so hope this info will suffice.

    Many thanks,

    M

    xx

ADDITIONAL INFO:: Arthur was (according to me Ma)a 'career soldier' and we know he died during WWI. Would he have been at oh, I don't know, say Barracks at that age (about 15/16)do you think?

    Hi

Although it wont help with the 1901 Census look up.....was his wife Catherine Julia, and did they reside at some point at Peckham??

This Arthur Charles Lake was "transferred to the Reserves" on 12th August 1919

    Good Luck with your search

    Aft'non Lozzie,

Cheers M8, for looking up His wife was Mary Ann nee Messer, b.1893 Uxbridge. He died during war, I know that much, but I'm perplexed as to where he was during 1901. They always resided around the Uxbridge/Cowley area of Middlesex. He's probably gonna be consigned to that bally pile called 'I dunno-where-he/she-was-in-1901'

    I do appreciate your efforts.
