    Default James Victory.

Thank you for taking the time to read this request.

Could you please help me find James Victory b.(at a guess) 1787 Ireland. Wife unknown, son is James Joseph Victory b.1812. Ireland (he married twice).

James Joseph b.1812 - 1st. wife was Margaret Fitzgerald b Ireland 1806 - d. Middlesex England 1847. married in Shoreditch London.

No help needed on 2nd wife Caroline Prebble b july 1820.

I believe James and his son James Joseph were born in Dublin, but feel there was also a connection with a place called Langford somewhere in Longford.. James Joseph settled in the Westminster area of London. I dont know what happened to the Father James, he may have been in West Ham. Their occupation's were Boot Closer's.

Any information you could help me would be wonderful.

I would specially like to know:

Place of birth for James & his son james Joseph Victory.

James wife's/James Joseph Mothers maiden name & place of birth

Any other family members or siblings of Father and son.

when the family came to England.

or any sites you feel would help me find this information.

A very tall order to ask of you, but any thing you can find (no matter how small) would be a great help for me.

    Thank you in advance.

    Kind Regards

    Tralena

    Thank you for your help.

I've taken a look at the 1851 Census, its a very strong possibility this could be the James Victory I'm looking for due to his occupation as a Boot Closer.

Unfortunately, the only son I Know of (so far) of James is, James Joseph b.abt 1812 also a Boot Closer.

By 1851 James Joseph b.1812 would already be married and not living at his Fathers address, because of this I cant be a 100% sure its the right James b 1793 on the 1851 Census you found.

I've tried searching the 1841 Census for James Senior, hoping it would give me more family members, but the only one I found was for a James b. 1787 occupation Ag. lab. Wrong date and occupation...So not my James.

Can you suggest any way for me to find him and is family before the 1851 Census.

I am so at a lost with this one.

    Hi

James junior in 1841 is in middlesex. marg is transcribed as mary and james is JOs but occupation is boot closer. with his child Joseph born 1839 in middlesex.

there is this death in 18 42.

James VictoryYear of Registration:1842Quarter of Registration:Apr-May-JunDistrict:St James WestminsterCounty:MiddlesexVolume:1Page:78

it doesnt give age at death but was wondering if it is the grandchild joseph who might actually have been christened james joseph like father and grandfather. this birth for 1839

James Joseph VictoryYear of Registration:1839 Quarter of Registration:Jul-Aug-Sep District:Lambeth County:Greater London, London, Surrey Volume:4 Page:265

there is also this 1871 census which i assume you have seen because you mention the places in ireland in your first message.

it gives grandchild james so either james didnt die as above or possibly as often happens first james died and they named another child james . this could fit in with the later birth date of 1853 in census.
