can anybody help he was born 1912 in wales and died in november 1959 he was 47 he was my grandfather im trying to find any relatives i presume that they are all deceased im not sure .ive traced his wife's side of the family i know need to know his side he had a brother called clarence who died in 1985...........i would appreciate anything thankyou julie

Was he born in Newport? I found an Evan J Francis born Newport 1912 and a Clarence S Francis born Newport 1917, both had a mother with maiden name Rogers.



I have also found Harris H Francis 1915 Newport mother's maiden name Rogers. Any good?

and again slizzy you are a star that is right i also know he married my grandmother maud powell a joint wedding on dec 7 1940 with hid brother clarence but that is all i know about him once again thankyou julie

Don't know if you have this......... Clarence married Gladys I. Cooper in Brentford.



I did look for a suitable marriage record for Evan John Francis' parents, but there were a few possible Francis - Rogers matches. If you like I can look again and post the possibles for you to ponder over.

Does your grandfather Evan John's marriage certificate have his father's name? If so it would narrow the search for the Francis/Roger's marriage.



I've checked Freebmd for years 1902-1912 and this is the only Francis/Rogers marriage in Newport. Was his name John?

If this info is all correct, it would seem Martha and Jesse seperated sometime between 1871-1881, so there's a possibility that Joseph Marshman was young Martha's father.
