Thread: Sarah Harrison...

I am kinda stuck, hope some kind person can help me out

Well here goes.

In the 1881 Census I have a Sarah Harrison (widowed) born c1801 born Nether Alderley Cheshire. I am assuming that her maiden name was Hulme and possibly the sister of Elisha Hulme. He was born c1797 in Prestbury Cheshire.

In both IGI and the ancestry websites Sarah was living with

Hugh Hulme....Head born 1838 Over Alderley Cheshire

Mary Hulme....wife born 1845

John Hulme....Brother born 1827

Elisha Hulme...father born 1797

Sarah Harrison Aunt born 1801



Can anyone help in tracing Sarah's spouse and the year she became a widow.

There are 2 or 3 Sarah's on the census which could be yours, I think this one looks the most likely as Copesthorne is so near to Alderley.

Edward Nield is recorded as a relative.

Do you think the 1851 is her? If not I can look again.

Hi slizzy. Yes I'm feeling much better thank you It is quite possible that it's the right family as I do have a Harriet Hatton in my tree so I dare say Lousie Hatton is related to her. It gets so confusing working out the relationships even though I use the Family legend calculator.



If you have time could you possibly do a 1901 lookup for me on a Muriel Hulme born 1899-1921 and see if she was the daughter of Frank Hulme and Hannah. She was born in MacClesfield again Cheshire.

Thank you slizzy, my intuition of Muriel being Frank and Hannah's daughter as I originally thought but wasn't 100% sure.

I can't be certain as yet as to the other Muriel with brother Hedley.
