Thread: London Directories 1812-1851

Can anyone direct me as to what London Directories may be available between 1812 - 1851 please?



I have my ancestor Lewis ANGUS in an 1811 Directory as follows:



PUBLIC BODIES

Tower of London

Clerks in the Carriage Yard Department

Clerk – Lewis ANGUS



I haven't been able to find what happened to Lewis after 1811 so am hoping to track him if is he is recorded in any directories after 1811 and before 1852 (wife Catherine died 1852 - widow)



If any are available on line that would be a bonus -

Have just located a Lewis ANGUS, 39 yrs

buried 29 Sept 1813

St Mary Magdalene Parish, WOOLWICH, KENT



Now hunting to find if any further information exists, e.g. wife info, occupation and so on...... quite confident this is my ancestor but never take ownership until I'm 100% sure...

In case your still looking for ANGUS family, on the IGI thereis an entry for Lewis ANGUS s/o John Angus & Helen Winchester bp 17/12/1775 South Leith Midlothian



Caroline Angus appears on the 1851 Liverpool census as a mother in law b 1775 Carlisle Cumberland, to a Robert Gibb and his wife Catherine b 1802 & 1803 Scotland



One of their children is LEWIS Gibb!
