Hi all! im trying to help my grandad find information about his real dad who left when he was 9.He was called Herbert Platts, born approx 1915, was married to an Edith, had 4 children before divorcing.This was in the Yorkshire County.I would appreciate any help.thankyou x





Another fact ive just found out was he left the uk to try and get into the australian army so he could have died over there.

Hi, Do you know which part of Yorkshire ........... it's a big County and there's a few Herbert Platts born 1910-15.

havent got any idea of a marriage date.although obviously i would have thought he wud have been aged between 18 and 25.i know he was in the york & lancs regiment and he worked on sheffield transport if thats any help.thanks

right i know he definitely worked as a conductor on the sheffield buses in 1938. he divorced edith martin between 1940 and 1950 i think.then he married a female conductor from the buses.

My grandads full name is Kenneth Joseph Platts.

DOB is 28th or 29th of november 1938

He was born in Canada Street, Sheffield.

Sisters names are Pat, margaret, kathleen
