    Default British subject?

    Hi,

Could anybody help me find Herman Bierman Citizenship/naturalization

    or emigration records.

I can trace hime to 1851 census Liverpool (Beerman) master butcher born Prussia british subject.

Unable to find him before then, although when I googled him found and old message about Herman Bierman married to Christiana Quinney from Australia

of course this e-mail address is no longer valid.

His wife was Christiana and I can find a marriage in Liverpool sept qtr 1847

Vol 20 page 154 Herman Bierman to Christiana Quinney.

The 1851 census has a son age7 George

The 1861 census has a stepson George Cunyer 17

found a birth 1844 George Cunyer Liverpool??

Now I am confused. I found that the Manx name pronounced Cunyah is spelt as Quinney.

So Christiana could be Quinney except her census details say she was born Prussia british citizen. However, we all know the census records can be wrong

Anyway, If I could find Herman's Emigration or naturalization details that would be a great start.

    Many thank's

I've got goose bumps...I came across your email quite by chance.

Herman Bierman is my Great Great Great Grandfather. I have been researching our family tree for years and about 18 months ago was putting the final touches to it. I'd tracked down the Biermans on the census and noted that he was a butcher from Prussia. Only today I thought I would just Google "Prussia, Butcher, Herman Bierman" just for the sake of it...and up popped your email.

Why the interest? Is he related to you? And if so, are we related? To answer your question, I do not know about him becoming a citizen but I can confirm he is one and the same as my family tree also shows his 7 year old son George (born 1844) and a stepson of George Cunyer (born same year). Remarkable!!

And now for the twist...I emigraged from England to Australia 16 years ago and now I see that Christiana might have been Australian??

    Let's talk...
