Thread: Alfred Whitaker

I am looking for the birth of Alfred Whitaker abt 1863 in Plymouth, Devon. Father Walter, mother Rebecca Osborne. Have checked with the GRO and bmd but haven't found him. Any suggestions as to where to look next?

Have you got the reference for the parents' marriage? Or for any of their other children?

Walter Whitaker married Rebecca Osborn(e) abt 1854. She was born abt 1831 in Lt Hedingham, Essex and died 13 Feb 1867 in Plymouth, Devon.

Children from marriage -

1.George Whitaker abt 1855 in Newington, London (no certificate)

2.James Whitaker abt 1857 in London

3.Henry Whitaker b.6 Mar 1858 Lower Kensington Lane, Lambeth

4.Francis Whitaker b.10 July 1860 York St, Battersea, Wandsworth

5.Alfred Whitaker b. abt 1863 in Plymouth

6.Edward Whitaker b.15 Oct 1865 in Plymouth.

Walter then married Isabella Lee (nee Wood) and I have all their seven childrens' births.

I have two wrong birth certificates for Alfred

1. 1863 b. 21 Dec 1862. St George in the East, Middlesex. Father George Whitaker, mother Harriet Cavill

2.1860 b. 24 Jun 1860 Hackney, Middlesex Father not known, mother Mary Whitaker.
