Thread: Maritime Records

Hi Everyone



Can anyone point me in the right direction. My Great great grandfather Athony J Facey was the skipper of an ocean going tug called BREEZE. We are fairly certain that it sailed out of Hull as this story has been passed down over the years. It must have been quite a large tug as it had a crew of about 12. Can anyone tell me where I might find any records regarding this vessel. May be a long shot really.

You don't give any dates and I'm sure as you suggest that it is a long shot but why not try Hull City Archives and the Hull Maritime Museum?

Thanks for you reply. Funny I have just received an email from Hull Maritime museum. They did have a ship sailing from there in the 1870's which would put it right for the 1871 census. They have directed me to the Seamens Register at the National Archive,Kew. So that will have to be my next stop.
