The problem here is that if James has already left home the 1841 census will not show his parish of birth, only that he was born in County.

I can only find one James Smith aged 17 born Hibden...but his parents are James & Elizabeth



This James Smith married an Eleanor and I have them on the 1851 & 1861 : Their children: Francis 1846 Elizabeth 1848 James 1852 Fanny 1855 George 1857 Charles 1858 ANd Louisa 1860



If this is the correct one I will post the census info

I did find a James Smith with Parents on 1841 Dibden Hampshire

with Parents James & Elizabeth

The problem is i have found a Extracted marriage record on IGI

18 June 1848 St Thomas Church Bristol

James Smith Father John Smith

Elizabeth Leaker Father James



Elizabeth's Father is correct but James says John



so not sure which is his father James or John
