    Default Missing family

Has anybody any idea what could have happend to this family?

Frederick James Head bap. 7.12.1834 Eastbourne Sussex

    Children -

    Fanny Harriet 28.5.1856 Faversham, Kent

    Louisa Rebecca 24.2.1860 Faversham, Kent

    George Edward 19.3.1864 Eastbourne, Sussex

    Ernest Edmund 4.5.1865 Eastbourne, Sussex

Wallace abt. 1867 (cannot find birth)

    Frank Rupert 22.6.1869 Eastbourne, Sussex

1861 Frederick, wife Sarah & two children - Eastbourne

1871 Frederick missing - Sarah & seven children Eastbourne

1881 Frederick & children missing - Sarah living with sister - Hastings

Cannot find any of the children after 1871. I know Frederick was alive in

1885 as he is mentioned in the Will of his father-in-law. "to Sarah wife of Frederick James Head of 15 Norland Place, Nottinghill, London for her own sole and separate use".

Any help in finding this family would be very much appreciated.

    Regards Teresa

    Hi Theresa,

I've had a look on Ancestry but so far haven't found your missing ones' However I've not given up and will continue with the search, it's hard to believe that so many can go 'missing' have you considered them moving abroad? If America is a possibility you could ask Starlight for a look-up on her American look-ups thread...........here's the link.

    Hi Slizzy,

I also searched the birth index for the most unusual name - Wallace from over a two year period with no luck. I did notice on free bmd a Wallace born Pancras although the wrong date is not far from Notting Hill. It might be a co-incidence.

    Hi Slizzy

Yes, I have seen this before but have discounted it, maybe wrongly, as it is Kensington, my family seem to have originated from the poorer parts of London!! I will send for the certificate today.

    Many thanks Teresa

I think Louisa married George Brown as I have found Emma and Isaac Winchcombe on the 1881 census. So far I've not found a Louisa and George Brown on any census. This family have truly left you with a huge puzzle to work out

I think I have found them on the 1881 - Louisa R Brown born 1860 Conyer, Kent, Living Kensington

There are very strange goings on in this family - on the 1891 I cannot find Louisa, but there is a George Brown born 1857 Beconsfield who is back with his parents and siblings as 'single' . There are also two grandchildren!!
