Thread: Fanny Dixey Help Please

Hi I am trying to trace my father family tree. I have manged to get so far tracing back my great grandfathers etc and hit a wall. Now going down the female line. I have got as far as Fanny Dixey she married William Temple 11th Feb 1883 in Poplar East London. Fanny was born in Dorchester. Her father was George Dixey born around 1826. He was married to Roseanna Leighorn.



Can anyone help me get further back please. Thanks

Here are Fanny's parents' in 1891..........and could that be your grandfather George staying with them? I know the age is out but looking at the original the age isn't clear.........George is listed as scholar so must be older than 1 year. I think George J Singhaus is a mistranscription .........and should be Ling???????? so probably a relative of Rosina's

Hi I am currentley doing a family tree for a friend his mother was Esther Linghorn daughter of Edward Linghorn and Sarah Hunter,Edward was the sister of Rosina .Her mother is living with them in the 1881 cens under the surname Leighhorn,she died the following year.

Her (Rosina) father was William Linghorn (1791c-1866) who married Harriet Carpenter (1803c-1882) in Bristol in 1827.There were quite a few children a sister Harriet married a James Samuel Meyer and emigrated to Australia in 1866 (found this snippet on the message board here ).

Most of the boys I believe went into shipping boiler making etc and ended up living in the same street in London.
