Thread: Shattock Family

Hi



I am new to this site and to doing my family tree, although I have tried to do it several times over I have just had a baby boy and thought that I would like to be able to do it for him whilst some of the older members of my family are still with me.



They have given me as much information as they can remember but now I am stuck and as I do not have that much money i cannot really afford to purchase subscriptions to other websites which allow census look ups etc so I am at the mercy of anyone who is willing to help me or put me in the right direction.



I am currently stuck at the moment trying to find a James Shattock not sure when he was born but am thinking it should be late 1780's or 1790.



He had a son called George Shattock in 1836 (7) who married Sarah Cross at Halse and had six children, James, George, William, Emma, Percival and Eliza. With James being my Great Grandfather.



I have seen on another site that there is a James born in 1786 in Bishops Lydeard who married an Ann and had a Geo in 1837 which could be my George but as I cannot investigate it further I am not sure.



So basically I am asking for help and also if there are any other Shattocks on this site so that we can compare trees once i am more established..

And I should have but Jane Cross, she has been Sarah Jane Cross but on the marriage certificate she is known as Jane Cross.
