Thread: 1901 Census Occupation check please

Hi guys



Wonder if you can help me please? I have an ALbert Griffiths born 1876 Sheffield Yorkshire.....he is with his wife an child on the 1901 BUT I cant read his occupation



The ref no is RG13 Piece 4362 Folio 78 Page 12



Hope someone out there has better eyes than I!!!!

Albert was a SHUNTER, no idea what that means unless he worked on the railways.

He was a Railway Servant (?!) on the 1891, and with so many Albert Griffiths around I was hoping for a Railway occupation on the 1901....



I thought i could see "Points" wrote above the "shunter" (lol i couldnt read that word ) and i was hoping it referred to railway Points
