    Default Help needed

    Hi

    Hope someone can help.

I've been searchin Theresa Bergin (Born 1874 according to 1901 census born Queens County Laios) my GG gran, so far have had no luck with her in any census except 1901 where she is now called Theresa Nunn, she married Robert Nunn 1896 in Bradford. She was in Bradford working as a servant for Abraham Sutcliffe there was also a baby William H Bergan.

    Another possible child

    Hector Sutcliffe Nunn 1902 bradford

    Definate children

Arthur Sutcliffe Nunn - 1904 Bradford - Mother Theresa - Father Blank

    Lily Nunn - 1908 - Huddersfield - mother theresa - Father - Herbert Nunn

    Teresa 1913 - Huddersfield m- theresa - f - herbert

    Walter 1918 - Huddersfield - m - theresa - f - herbert

There is an error on original census on ancestry so i cant view it. To see if she is a widow or if the baby was actually called nunn. Which it probably is and died in 1901 bradford.

I have looked at Abraham he has a wife Leah who is the head ofanother household in bradford with about 6 kids rangining from 10 th 10 months.

Robert Nunn(born 1870 walsham le willows) was in 1891 census in bowling, Bradford. Where he was in 1901 census i haven;t a clue.

On Teresa'a marriage cert to Robert the witness's were Kate and Joseph Ryan. Theresa's fathers name Patrick Bergan.

Having searched Kate Ryan her maiden name was Bergin

In 1891 census was with mother Mary Bergin and Joseph Ryan. Her age has been transcribed wrong and she was born in 1871 in bradford.

Kate was in Bradford for 1891 and 1901 census i have searched and searched and i cant find her in 1881 census in which you would think she was stil in bradford.

Can anyone else find Kate or Mary hopefully with Teresa in 1881, or even Robert in 1901.

    I've done every search possible.

    Any ideas

    thanks

Thanks Slizzy for putting the links never thought to.

This part of my tree has been a nightmare i never seem to get much further.

Since posting my message ages ago i have managed to get in touch with Arthur Sutcliffe Nunns daughter in law.(His father was left blank on cert). Apparently arthur's son never knew his father had the middle name Sutcliffe and always thought he was born in Huddersfield until they ordered the birth cert. Arthurs war records show Herbert nunn as his next of kin.

Is there any other way of getting to view that 1901 census i have reported it to ancestry for not working but they have never done anything.

    Hi Nikki,

Have you tried looking at the National Archives website 1901 census, it's a pay to view site, so you could buy some credits and try viewing it there. http://www.1901census.nationalarchives.gov.uk/

You must let us know .............update your thread, if you do manage to view Theresa on the 1901. This puzzling woman/family could cause sleepless nights, I intend reading through your notes again tonight (when i have some quiet time) can't promise anything though, as I'm sure I had a good search for the Bergin's last year, but my motto is 'never give up'

    Hi Nikki,

Have you had any luck on the National Archives site.....viewing the census sheet? If so post the details. I've not given up on the Bergins's, thought I'd wait to hear what the 1901 census throws up first.

Right i've had a look at the national archives both Theresa and Abraham where married (so wheres Robert and why is Abraham not with his wife )Theresa is down for housework and abrahams job looks like a wood spinner in a wood mill, i wouldn't have though he was on that good a wage that he could afford to run 2 houses and 2 woman.

William H Burgen is wot the baby was put down as and not Nunn he was 8 month old and a boarder n born in Huddersfield. Why would he have been born Huddersfield and not Bradford when it looks like Theresa had been there for the last 5 years.

Question-Did the father have to be present when the baby was registered if yes is this why he could have been called Burgen and not Nunn.

They where living at 21 Wapping Street Bradford and guess wot on theresa marriage cert she was living at 12 Wapping Street when she married Robert 5 years earlier as soon as i saw the census i knew i'd seen the address before.

I tried to attach the census but it was too big when i go upstairs on my computer i'll try attach it from a word document

I think Robert is probably a good bet to search now that it says she's still married.

Will let u know if i find anything although i doubt it have searched for hours before.
