Thread: 1881 Census

Hi, I'm trying to find my Great great grandparents on the 1881 census... with no luck.

I've got them on the 1871 census in St Mary's parish & on the 1891 census in the Millbrook parish. They were both born in Christchurch, Southampton area, Hampshire. George, a carpenter, was born c. 1821, Eliza c.1823. (maiden name not known yet)

My Great grandfather, Frederick, was the yougest & had left home by 1881

(I have him on the 1881 census) his siblings were...

Ellen born c.1861, Julia born c.1858, Selina born c.1853 & Walter born c.1855.

Whether any of them were still at home is doubtfull because of their ages.

I have reason to believe that one of my relatives (or spouse & son)White or Walden, went down with the Titanic which is why I'm trying to trace Julia's records .

Found Selina. She married William Miles December Qtr 1873 in Southhampton. She is living with her husband at 75 Castle Street Avon Brewery Salisbury St Edmund with son William aged 4 and her sister Ellen is with them on the 1881 Census.

Walter appears to have married a Sarah Newman December qtr 1877 in Southhampton they appear to be living at 20 Hack Road West Ham Essex on the 1881 census. No children.

Unfortunately no sign of George and Eliza or of Julia. I also haven't found a marriage for Julia.

That's what I've found... anyway thanks for looking... they must be somewhere!!
