Hi all,

I am having difficulty with my Mother in Law's parents or parent if my certs are to be believed. My M-I-L was born Ella Mitchell on 3rd April 1928 in Dundee Scotland. On Ellas BC only her mother Julia Mitchell is named.....no father but it does not say illigitimate (perhaps they had stopped that practice by then). Also on Ella's marriage cert in 1948 no father named so not a typo. I have looked on SP for a Julia Mitchell and have only found 2. (for the timeline) One in Dundee and the other in Brechin. I think the Dundee one is my best bet but can anyone tell me how I can be sure this is Ella's Mother. I have tried finding a marriage for Julia but to no avail. I know Ella had a sister but I am sure she was older. Can't give her name as she may still be with us. I would be grateful for any help with my elusive Julia
