Can't find the marriage but Maria's maiden name was Fuller. They had a son Charles William on the 21 November 1848 in St Helier Jersey. He was baptized on the 10 December 1848 in St Helier Jersey. Charles was a tailor. His godparents are down as being his Parents and the Minister was A Croker.

The next child is Maria Honor Pitman born 19 July 1851 in St Helier, Baptized 3 August 1851 St Helier Charles Pitman is her Godfather Hannah Warr is her Godmother Minister is E. G. Renouf.

This is Maria on the 1841 Census in Guernsey.

    Elizth. Herbet 65 E

    Maria Fuller 29 Y

    George Predain 24 Baker E

    Henry Pope 20 Tailor E

    Benjamin Benway 23 Printer F

In District 4 St Peter Port Guernsey. Which has boundaries

High Street as far as Bertelot Street, Berthelot Street, Clifton Mont Gible Steps national School Street and Arcade.

Unfortunately I cannot give you any more information on Maria Fuller or her parents.

    Hope this helps.

Not sure if you have it but Charles William Pitman is living at 22 Huntingdon Buildings Bethnal Green with his wife and children in the 1881 Census. Charles and Maria are living at 30 Benhill Road Camberwell.

In the 1871 Census Charles Pitman is living in Jersey. Son Charles William is in London and Maria Pitman is down as being in London. I don't have full access so can only assume she is with Charles William.

In 1861 both Charles and Charles William are in Jersey. Maria appears to be down as Mary but they have that she was born in England. Probably assumed that as Charles was.

    Hello Kate

Thanks for the info great to get Maria's maiden name, only thing I have different info for 61/71 census. My direct line is the son Robert born 1847 Jersey so I will have to check census again.

    Thanks again

    Kim
