Can i just ask a question please?

If someone is killed in the First World War and they died and were buried in France. Where would their death be registered? Is it in the town where they were living before becoming a soldier or would it be in France?

Can someone put me on the right track please

Also, Findmypast has death certificate references for soldiers killed in ww1

The CWGC (Commonwealth War Graves Commission) site gives the same information as findmypast but free. In answer to your question no they would not appear on the death registers in England
