Thread: Gallagher help needed please

On the 1901 census I have the following family. Eva and Rosie are transcribed as Neice to Thomas.



The sisters that I have for Thomas are Emma 1858 (I have her marriage), Mary 1862 Bramley, Vashti 1868 (I have her marriage), Annie 1876 Bramley, Rose 1880 ( I have her marriage)

In 1891 I have this family but is this the right one, if so who is Frances. The birth parish is not the same on both census' but are very near. I can't find a Frances Staniford although the name is often mistranscribed as Stamford. Am I missing something or another transcript. If not where did the other children go ?

so it looks like you are looking for a perrin/Staniford connection to find the true relationship

I haven't worked this out completely but what do you think?

Marriage Anthony Gallagher 1/1893 to either Annie Cousins or Caroline Laura Cooke (NB there are a William & Harriet Cousins age 74 & 73 next door on 1901 census - mistranscribed as Courier)

Marriage 3/1897 Thomas Staniford to Fanny Cousins Winchester 2c 237

So my guess is that Fanny Staniford could be sister to Annie Gallagher nee Cousins (Rosie's mother and Eva's stepmother)

I think you may be right Gillian as Fanny does have a sister Annie born 1862. I had been looking for a Gallagher/Staniford connection. The problem is, I now can't find Fanny's birth although I already have her in my tree.



I need to have a look again later on when I am more with it.

This looks like Fanny's birth reg - mistranscribed or wrongly spellt on the registration

I was getting a bit worried then as Fanny Cousins is an important member in my tree. I have her marriage age 23 to Thomas Staniford and her father being William Cousins. I thought for a moment she had been adopted which would have mucked up a lot of my tree.

Her sister Annie must have married Anthony Gallagher and then Louis Murray, and then died in 1900 which explains why the children were elsewhere.
