Many thanks Maggie, it seems one of my sisters has confirmed my grandmother was called Rebecca, so its looks like the other details are likely to be correct too !!.

I am only just starting on this search of my mothers side of the family and guess they are always the more difficult, a lot is known about my fathers side but as my mum came down from Blackpool during WW2 and met my dad in Herts we never had as much to doo apart from 1 week a year visit up north. Are these CD's that you can buy any good ?, a couple more replies seem to refer to discs ?.

Thanks for the info it would seem that FYLDE was an area of Blackpool, and old maps of the area are non existant !.

You have given me the kick I needed to continue the search, thank you again.

    Hi Reg

The Fylde is an area of Lancashire which includes Blackpool. In this context it is the registration area which includes Blackpool.

If you are just starting best to keep your money for certificates eg the marriage certificate will give you father's names of both bride and groom and birth certificate will give both parents names & maiden name of mother.
