Hi All
I posted recently trying to help my mother in law look for her ancestors - she is getting more and more disheartened to the point of giving up now and id love nothing more than to give her even a small bit fo her family tree as a christmas present.
Right the information i have is this.
My mother in laws name is Sandra Graham Watson Farquhar. She was born 26th February 1956.
Her mother was called Christine Colville Graham. She later married a Robert Huggins who was a sawyer and together they had 3 children - Christine, Colin and Robert.
Christine Huggins (nee Graham) had a brief affair with a George White Farquhar b. 28th February 1920, and as a result my mother in law Sandra Farquhar was born.
Christine Huggins' parents were a Colin Colville Graham who was a shepherd, and a Christine Graham (nee Henderson) - these details were found on Christine hugigns death certificate.
I also found out recently that Christina had 4 siblings who were called Peter, Peggy, Murdo and Donald.
Christine Huggins died at the Royal Infirmary in Dundee on 8th May 1961 when Sandra was only 6 years old. Her funeral was arranged and paid fo rby George White Farquhar.
Sandra was then raised by her father George White Farquhar and his wife Victoria Lily Oldroyd who was born in Aberdeen. They also had two other children, a George Farquhar (born in Dundee) and a Victoria Lily Grey Farquhar.
I also know that George White Farquhar had a sister named Elisabeth (Betty) who went on to marry a WIlliam (surname unknown) who was refered to as Bill and he was a farmer in Huntley just north of Aberdeen.
George White Farquhar also was in the Army. He was a foot soldier in the Trenches and he also fought in Italy (sorento?) and in Anzio (?).
I know that Sandra was born in Dundee, and her family were from surrounding areas. Most of them resided in Scotland.
As you can see i have a fair bit more correct information now so is anyone able to help me??? as im still drawing blanks
thank you for any help
love
Samantha
