Thread: Maginnis / McGuinness & Woolley 1841 & 1851

Can anyone find this couple in 1841 and 1851? I have struggled to trace further back than their marriage.



Mary Maginnis (could be a variation of surname spelling - her marriage and childs birth records have Maginnis and McGuinness!). She was born approx 1832 in Liverpool and her father was James Maginnis.



Mary married Thomas Woolley in 1852, they lived in Portland Street.



Thomas Woolley (again, i have various surname spellings - Wooley, Woolly, Nookey (!?! mis transcribed)) who was born in approx 1833 in Liverpool, his father was Robert Woolley.

OOps only 1951 census reference i can see is to a mary jane mcginnis born 1834 liverpool is in the borough gaol with her sister elizabeth mcginnis.

it could be the right Mary, I have no idea if she had a middle name, I also don't know if she had a sister. But it's a possibility!!
