Thread: Can't find marriage

I've been trying for a long while to find the marriage between Raymond Furniss B1867 Cheshire and Sophia Foster B 1871 Lancashire. I think they were married sometime between 1885 and 1892 and possibly in Ireland as family legend has it that they work for a time for Fossets Circus which was based there. My uncle also heard from his mother (their daughter) of a possible Canadian connection.

One confusion is that there sons marriage certificate in Australia states his mothers name as Millicent Sophia C(Carlotta?)

I've tried searching freeBMD without luck using different spellings and dates but have been left scatching my head.

Any help appreciated

Free BMD covers England and Wales but not Scotland or Ireland.

The reason i was trying FreeBMD was in the hope they were married in this country as all the children were born here in the Liverpool area. As i havn't been able to find it i'm presuming it is abroad and my dad and uncle think this may be the case.

I have search from Jan 1883 - Dec 1904 with no luck. Sorry

Further to this request, speaking to my uncle he seems to think they worked for a time with either Fossets Circus, who we belive were Irish based, or Foster's Circus who were possibly American though that may be wrong. Either way if this is true it would have been around 1888-1892 time.
