Thread: A bit confused

I hope someone can point me in the right direction with this query. I have an old family bible that belongs to my maternal grandmother and lists some of her maternal ancestors. I've managed to sort out most of the people listed, however I'm a bit confused as to one name lised - that of an Anna Maria Reeson, said to be born on December 24th 1861. I've checked a few sites and the only listi I can find is for a birth of a Hannah Maria Reeson, registered at Boston between Janaury and March 1862. Is this likely to be the same person? Wouls sending for a birth certificate be worth it? I can also find no record of this girl after 1862, so am wondering what happened to her then.

It looks a possibility. There is a Ann M Reeson in Lincolnshire in 1871 living with her grandparents. I cannot find a match for a Hannah Reeson. Maybe the grandparents called her Anna and also added her by this name to the bible. The date and area would be right. I think that getting the certificate will be the only way to prove who her parents are. You might then be able to confirm if the grandparents are correct or not.

Do you know that they were in the Lincolnshire area ?

Thank you for that information, it's certainly very useful and the census is something I'd not found previously. I'll send for the birth certificate to check out where it all ties in though.
