If FamilySearch shows a marriage between 'Mathew Haygarth & Ann Haygarth', which was possible in Dent Yorkshire 1862, shouldn't both names be on the same index page ? As they aren't - could this be a transcription error ?
Jim.

Hi Jim,
The marriage given on LDS is a member submitted record so therefore has not been rechecked. Maybe the person that submitted the record knew when the marriage took place but couldn't find her maiden name.
This is the nearest I can come up with but maybe someone else may find something else. I cannot find if the registration area for Dent would be Sedburgh.
Marriages Jun 1862 (97%) Haygarth Matthew Sedburgh 9a7Leighton George Sedburgh 9a7
Oversby Ann Sedburgh 9a7
Thornburrow Elizabeth Sedburgh 9a7
Hi Jim,
I think Starlight's theory is most probable, Dent is part of Sedburgh and only about 7 miles seperates them. Hope this helps.
Many thanks Starlight.
You've solved it ! I do know that Mathew's wife was 'Ann' so it must be Ann Oversby
Yes - Dent is Sedburgh.
Where did you get the "Marriages June 1862" ?
I thought I'd discovered why my wife is, slightly (?), barmy (Mathew is her Grt. Grandad....inter-marriage ? ), but I'll have to look elsewhere now......
Jim
Hi Slizzy.
Your post came as I was typing my reply.
Yes - all solved now.
Thanks

Hi Jim,
I got it from http://www.freebmd.org.uk/ by putting in Mathew's surname and years 1859 - 1863. For some reason I couldn't get it by using his Christian name as well.
I have irregualar marriages in my tree where the families are inter-related but they have the same reference number.
Thanks a million Starlight.
Found it ! That's another trick I've learnt. Strange biz this...isn't it ?
Jim
