    Hi

I was 10 in 1954 when this happened. I just searched google about this as I have a vivid memory of this murder.

I lived a few doors away from Mr Hepper at Ormonde Gate, Chelsea and remember playing with his daughter, Pearl and Margaret in the Street.

I seem to recall there was another daughter but I cannot remember her name

    I hope this helps.

    Regards Marion

P.S. I remember him as a lovely man who often helped my mother up the stairs with my baby sisters pram.

    To Angiee

You may know some of this information already...

Hepper's daughter's name was Pearl. He lived at Ormonde Gate Chelsea and rented a one-room, third storey flat in Western Road, Hove where this - particularly revolting - muder took place.

As his full name suggests, Hepper was of Spanish extraction. His father had lived in Gibraltar. In 1954, he had an uncle in Gibraltar, a brother, sister, and other relatives living in various parts of Spain.

    Regards

    Rhys

    Default hepper

The district nurse who knew Margaret well saw her alive after Hepper was on plane going to gibralter/spain. This whole subject is approached in a book called The Dark Wind by JC Barrant which you'll find on unpublishedauthorsbookshop. There is no doubt that Hepper was innocent and if you check you'll find that his first barrister insisted he was to the judge and above but was removed with a new barrister appointed. Reasons why are explained in that book. Why is it important, if you don't mind me asking? Sorry took so long - not very computer literate!

From The Times' reporting of the case, Hepper appears to have been a Spanish citizen. Is there any reason that you think he is related to your family?
