Thread: Luke Machin...Help!

Hi



Can anyone help me with Finding Luke Machin, born 1851 Dec Q4 in Congleton Cheshire. He married Sarah Sutton in

Sep Q3 in 1872 at Mossley Holy Trinity in Congleton...I can't find them on the 1881 Census. I checked to see if they was living with other family members but to no avail.



Also any info on Luke's parents would be a bonus.

If you leave it at 'all counties' on Ancestry (1881 census) there is a Luke & Sarah Machin living at Wolstanton, Staffordshire.

And the 1891 census shows them at Biddulph, Staffs. (with 2 kids )

If this is your Luke then Biddulph is where he was born.

Luke died 1894, Wolstanton.

Sarah (born Gatley, Lancs.) - 'Widow' with son Charles (15) 1901 census.

Biddulph was part of Congleton...cracked it ?

I'm undecided as to whether that is the same Luke and Sarah being born in Congleton I keep looking at the 1881 Census but I'm getting more and more confused. You could be right.

Hi, i stumbled upon this page when i typed my name into google

and i found you were looking for someone called luke machin,

funnily enough i live in congleton in cheshire, do u know if he was

related in anyway, and do u mind if i ask why your looking

you dont have to answer obviously if for personal reasons but

i'm just curious.. thanks

Hi Luke, thankyou for your posting for a few seconds I thought my ancestors had come to life as at the time of starting my ancestry I did have a Luke Machin married to a Sarah Sutton back in 1870's, unfortnately not the right family. Although I do have ancestors and descendants in Macclesfield. Hope this as brought a sigh of relief to your curiosity. Thanks once again.
