Thread: Help with Welsh side of Family Tree

Hi I am trying to find some information on the Thomas family they are from Llanelli or around Llanelli in Wales. Any help would be appreciated.

Could you be more specific. Names and approximate dates will be needed before anyone can help.

I am looking for some information on the following people William Thomas born in 1895 and died in 1943, he was married to a Lilian Florence Preece who was born in 1905 and died in 1935. Willam Thomas's father's name is Walter Thomas I have no other information on this person.

How would I go about obtaining a death certificate of my grandmothers. Her name is Phyllis Thomas and she died on the 7 May 2001 in Dyfed, South Wales and I am also trying to find out where she was burried over there.

This is the reference for Lilian's birth -

Lilian Florence Preece 4th quarter 1905 Bromyard 6a 503

If you get the birth certificate it should give the names of her parents and with luck you can then start to trace back through the censuses.

You will need the reference though - are you quite sure of the date of death as the most likely is registered in July 2001 Swansea -Phyllis Jess Thomas - dob 14 Aug 1908 - does that sound right?

This sounds like my Lilian Florence Preece thanks for the information. But for the Phyllis Thomas it is not the right Phyllis. She is my grandmother but thanks for the help so far.
